The story of our little Miracles…
After years of trying to have another baby, God finally answered our prayers. In October 2006, we found out that we were to expect not one, not two, but three blessings. Three months later, much to our surprise, a fourth baby was detected. For the next few months, we took a ride on the biggest emotional roller coaster you could ever imagine. We were happy and excited as well as scared, nervous, worried, and blessed all at the same time. We knew that there was a possibility that something could go wrong and our dreams could be shattered, yet again. Nevertheless, we were prepared for whatever the Lord had in store for us (so we thought).
On March 14, 2007, at 26 weeks gestation (6 months), the babies decided that it was time to come out. It was unbelievably the most unforgettable experience that ended in both tragedy and bliss. Our first son, Micah, was born lifeless while Braden, Kiersten and Brooke were rushed to the NICU for immediate critical care. As if there weren’t enough tension in the air, we’ll never forget the moment the Doctor announced, “there’s a fifth one!” Regrettably, Tyler, our fifth born child, demised prior to leaving his Mother’s womb and Braden passed in his Father’s arms an hour later.
Along with the tremendous amount of grief for the loss of our boys came immeasurable joy, thankful for the endurance of our precious surviving girls. Kiersten and Brooke have both been home since July 2007. They are as healthy as can be and this is our life.
